At the 5th International Quality Education Conference (IQEC 2025) in Dar es Salaam, our CEO, Ms. Rakshita Vaya had the honor of moderating a session led by Polycarp O. Otieno, Education Specialist at UNICEF Regional Office, Nairobi.
The session tackled one of the most pressing challenges in African education: how to mobilize and use resources more effectively in the face of shrinking aid and growing needs. With nearly 278 million children projected to be out of school by 2026, and a $77 billion annual financing gap in Africa alone, the urgency is clear.
Polycarp’s presentation highlighted how data can be a lever for both adequacy and efficiency from making the case for increased investment to identifying savings through better budget execution and teacher deployment.
Grateful to be part of this timely conversation and to contribute to the movement for inclusive, quality, and sustainable education across Africa.
